Kentucky hasn’t been spectacular in stopping the run this season and Arkansas is looking to get running back Kniles Davis back on track.
The Wildcats are giving up 187 yards per game on the ground and Arkansas is only gaining a league low 108 yards per game.
Running back Knile Davis should see more playing time in Arkansas’ game against Kentucky on Saturday, Razorbacks coach John L. Smith said.
Davis, a preseason all-SEC selection, was used minimally in Arkansas’ 24-7 win over Auburn last weekend. He had three carries for minus-4 yards in the game after accounting for a season-high 129 yards at Texas A&M on week earlier.
“He’s had a much better week than he had a week ago (in practice),” Smith said. “We’re looking forward to (him playing more) and certainly hope that.”
Much like Arkansas’ 2-4 record, this season hasn’t been what was expected for Davis. In his first season back from a broken ankle suffered last year, Davis has 269 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 85 carries.
The redshirt junior has struggled to hold onto the ball this season, fumbling seven times and losing two. He fumbled three times against the Aggies, one of which was returned for a touchdown.

It looks like whoever owns the ground will have the best chance to win the game.
Kentucky will have 23 freshman and sophomores out of 30 they have taken to Fayetteville on defense.
