The Kentucky Wildcats fed off a sell out Rupp Arena crowd to beat Florida 61-57.
The Wildcats were led in scoring by Archie Goodwin’s 16 points, but the difference maker for the Wildcats was Willie Cauley-Stein.
Willie finished with 6 points and 8 rebounds, but his 4 blocks and his presence in the lane were crucial down the stretch as Florida did not score in last 7 minutes of the game.
Alex Poythress also came up big with 9 points and 12 rebounds, plus Ryan Harrow had a nice floor game as he scored 13 points while committing only 1 turnover.
Don’t forget about Julius Mays, who hit the 2 clinching free throws to make it a 4 point game and several big 3s, finishing with 13 points.
The Wildcats will now wait and see who they will play in the SEC Tournament, which will depend on being a #2 or #3 seed.
