Yes parents play a big part in recruiting, and that is sad. Just because mom or dad is fan or alum at any school, they shouldn’t want their kids to go there for that reason. It should be the kids choice, if its a full ride at a great school, no matter if the parents hate it..They should let the kid alone, let them move away from home and grow up, or at least have that chance to grow up, to earn trust and show them he/she is ready to be student away from mommy and daddy…jmho..I’m a UK fan and my wife is a UK Alum…We sent our kid to Murray State..WHY? It was “his choice”, not ours, he stayed ther 4 years came out with a BFA degree, moved out of state and went to another school to further his degree..
