I know I wiill be in the vast majority on this, but I truly believe Calipari is screwing the pooch on this one because if you have a top ten player practically begging for a scholarship, then let the kid attend already. Yes, before anyone responds, I KNOW without a doubt that the coaching staff knows INFINITELY more than I do about recruiting, coaching and managing players, but I feel that Walker will be a real loss if he somehow commits to another place. As we saw this year (Coleman, Tarczewski, Ashley, etc …), talented big men (centers and power forwards) aren’t always easy to come by and if you have a top ten prospect wanting to attend, then offer him.
And yes, I know about Nerlens Noel and the impact the young man can bring to any program, but getting him out of the Northeast (Providence, UConn, Syracuse, etc ..) may prove problematic. I guess I am just why not take the sure thing when you know the young man is talented and will not develop chemistry issues?
