ESPN’s Dave Telep Says UK Will Land Some Stars

Telep thinks we’ll have no problem landing a good class.
”They are not going to get shut out,” Telep said. “They are playing the percentages. They are involved with so many elite guys, they’ll get a couple of nibbles and then finally hook a couple of guys.”
UK is still recruiting six of the top 10 players on the ESPN.com top 100 listing and 13 of the top 25 prospects in the 2012 class.

The Wildcats are still in the mix for No. 1 Shabazz Muhammad, made the final cut for No. 2 Andre Drummond and No. 3 Mitch McGary and are also still on the trail for No. 5 Brandon Ashley, No. 7 Kaleb Tarczewski and No. 8 Anthony Bennett.

“A lot of these guys are not prone to pop without taking some official visits and going through the process a little bit,” Telep said. “So you have to wait on these guys.”
Kentucky is also still recruiting No. 14 Archie Goodwin, No. 15. DaJuan Coleman, No. 18 Alex Poythress, No. 21 Devonta Pollard, No. 22 Robert Carter, No. 23 Ricardo Ledo and No. 24 T.J. Warren.
No. 33 Willie Cauley and No. 38 Perry Ellis are among several other players still with the Wildcats on their list.

“They have enough lines in the water,” Telep said. “Trust me, they’ll be fine. They’re going to throw back more guys than they keep. But they’ll keep chumming the water for the guys they want to keep.”
