CBS Sports SEC Rundown

In a piece which I swear Gary Parrish had to have someone else write for him, he (or his ghostwriter) breaks down the SEC and shows UK alot of love.

Case in point: The Wildcats are big and strong and long and talented. They have shooters. They have shot-blockers. They’ve got everything you need to win a national championship…

Out of context, that might not seem as much a gushing endorsement as a simple fact. But this is Parrish.

He goes on…
The League’s Most Memorable Moment So Far: Kentucky’s Anthony Davis blocked John Henson’s shot in the closing seconds of a 73-72 victory over North Carolina, and he really hasn’t stopped blocking shots since. The elite freshman and National Player of the Year candidate is among the reasons why UK is so dominant on both ends of the court.

The only thing that might contend with Davis’ block for moment of the season over all would be Watford’s buzzer beater, but thats only relevant because it was against UK.

Parrish suggests that the SEC could put as many as 8 teams in the tourney, and he’s very serious about this.

That last part is a quote, by the way.

This could be my favorite line, the prediction…is that the Wildcats will win the SEC by multiple games, take the SEC tournament, be a No. 1 seed on Selection Sunday and the majority’s pick to cut nets in April.

Somebody needs to get Parrish to a doctor quick, or have one of those FBI guys check the writing to make sure its his, either way, I’ll take it!

Parrish goes on to pick Michael Kidd-Gilchrist as the league POY, and includes Anthony Davis on his All-League team.

To see who the 8 teams are that Parrish thinks could be dancing and check the rest of his (or his ghostwriter’s) musings on the SEC, click here.
