The ‘experts’ over at CBS Sports put together some predictions for the second half of this season, as well as some mid-year awards. Kentucky fared pretty well, especially considering these guys love to dog Big Blue.
Among the predictions, Kentucky to win it all by 3 of the 4 writers.(I’ll let you find out for yourself who the lone naysayer was.)
Here’s what a couple of the fellas had to say about UK’s chances:
[I] Michael Kidd-Gilchrist gives these guys the toughness, Anthony Davis brings the length, Doron Lamb the perimeter shooting and Marquis Teague will hit his stride come SEC play. I don’t care if Terrence Jones is an enigma, as long as he shows up for a couple games in March and April, it’ll be enough.[/I]
[I]I love talent and nobody has more than Kentucky. They overwhelm you offensively and guard you tremendously. They have shooters and shotblockers and lots and lots of pros. Yes, John Calipari is about to get his first national championship.
[/I]Michael Kidd-Gilchrist was named to 3 of the four writer’s 4 All-American teams, and was named Freshman of the Year by two. Anthony Davis was picked as Freshman of the Year by one.
