Jason King says Anthony Davis is Player of the Year

ESPN’s Jason King weigh’s in on the POY race and offers up what his ballot would look like if the season were over today. He chooses Anthony Davis and here what he has to say:

[I]I warned folks in Tuesday’s edition of King’s Court that Kansas’ Thomas Robinson was hardly the national player of the year lock that so many considered him to be…

Anthony Davis, Kentucky — No one in college basketball affects the game quite like the Wildcats’ 6-foot-11 freshman center. Davis averages a national-best 4.7 blocks per contest along with 13.5 points and 10 rebounds for the country’s best team. The Chicago native will almost certainly be the No. 1 pick in this summer’s NBA draft.

I expect that in the weeks to come, we will see this sentiment sweep across the sea of national media. This past week marked a change in Anthony Davis, sort of like a kid who gets in his fight and realizes he can take a punch. More so, this kid realized he enjoys throwing them. As Davis had an edge to his game last night against Tennessee, even drawing a technical foul for being in the center of a shoving match.
