University of Kentucky senior Winston Guy has been named the Defensive Back Performer ofthe Week by the College Football Performance Awards for his impressive play inKentucky’s win last week.
Guy, a native of Lexington,Ky., had 10 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss and two interceptions in Kentucky’s 14-3 win over Western Kentucky last Thursday. Thesenior’s performance was probably the best overall performance of his career and has now earned double-figure tackles in five career games.
Along with Guy, the College Football Performance Awards named sophomore kicker Joe Mansour Honorable Mention Kickoff Specialist of the Week and senior punter Ryan Tydlacka was tabbed Honorable Mention Punter of the Week.
Mansour had three kickoffs against WKU with one touchback. WKU’s average starting yard line after the kickoffs was their own 21-yard line. Tydlacka changed the field position game with seven punts for an average of 47.1 yards per punt and three punts inside the 10-yard line.
