[COLOR=#000000]LEXINGTON, Ky. –[B] [/B]Junior outside hitter Ashley Frazier has been selected as an Academic All-District team member by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). This marks the first such honor of the Oregon, Ohio, native’s career.[/COLOR]

[COLOR=#000000]Frazier is a dynamic outside hitter that leads the 16th-ranked Kentucky volleyball team with 3.15 kills per set. Frazier is just as productive in the classroom with a 3.86 grade point average with a major in marketing. Furthermore, Frazier is a two-time member of the Southeastern Conference Academic team.[/COLOR]

[COLOR=#000000]She has become UK’s impact player this season for the Blue and White. Frazier has led the squad in kills on nine occasions and topped 10 or more kills in a match in 19 matches including all but two in league competition.[/COLOR]

[COLOR=#000000]By winning on the district level, Frazier advance to the national ballot for the Capital One Academic All-America Team, which will be announced in December. CoSIDA District II is comprised of schools from the states of Delaware, Kentucky, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. [/COLOR]

[COLOR=#000000]Two additional Wildcats, middle blocker Ann Armes, and defensive specialist Jessi Greenberg earned nomination for the Academic All-America process. To be a nominee, a player must have a career GPA of at least 3.30, be a sophomore or higher in academic and athletic standing, be a starter or key reserve and have played in at least half of the team’s games that season.[/COLOR]

[COLOR=#000000]The Wildcats return to action with a pair of home matches against SEC Western Division foes this weekend. UK will take on LSU on Friday night at 7 p.m. ET, and Arkansas at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday afternoon.[/COLOR]
