According to Matt Norlander of CBS Sports, Mark Mitchell’s eligibility to play the upcoming season at Kentucky is in doubt due to an SEC rule about intra-conference transfers.
Mitchell just finished up his senior season at Missouri and did not enter the transfer portal because transferring for a fifth season wasn’t a thing at the time.
According to Norlander, Mitchell’s transfer to Kentucky is believed to fall under the definition of prohibited intra-SEC transfer because he didn’t transfer in the initial portal window.

Mitchell, who finished his senior year at Mizzou in the spring, did not enter the portal then because there was no expectation he would have the opportunity to transfer. He entered the portal last Friday with a do-not-contact tag and committed to UK less than 24 hours later.
