Longtime NBA head coach Billy Donovan has taken an assistant coaching job with the San Antonio Spurs.
After 11 seasons as a head coach in Chicago and Oklahoma City, Donovan is heading west to be an assistant.
Pete Thamel of ESPN was first to report the news.

There have been many calls for Donovan to return to college basketball, where he won national championships with Florida in 2006 and 2007.
It appears he would rather be an assistant in the NBA than return to the circus that is college athletics.
