Jeff Goodman of The Field of 68 gave some good and potentially some bad news in his latest thoughts on Kentucky men’s basketball recruiting.
The good news is that “all signs” are pointing to Kentucky landing a commitment from BYU transfer Rob Wright.
“The heavy favorite is Kentucky for Rob Wright,” Goodman said on a recent show. “It’s basically down to Kentucky and BYU at this point, and I think Kentucky, all signs are — unless they screw this thing up, he’s probably going to end up in Lexington.”
On the flip side, Goodman isn’t feeling so solid about top 2026 recruit Tyran Stokes.
“The Tyran Stokes thing, man, I don’t know,” Goodman said of Stokes picking Kentucky. “I don’t see it working. I don’t love it with Mark Pope and Tyran Stokes. I’ll be frank. I’ll be totally honest with you on this one. I just think Pope is too nice, and I think you need an MFer with Tyran Stokes. I really believe that.”
Goodman also gave some thoughts on Syracuse transfer Donnie Freeman, stating this his money is on Freeman picking UConn.
