Kentucky Will Reportedly Hire Jackson State Head Coach Mo Williams as Assistant Coach

According to Jack Pilgrim of Kentucky Sports Radio, Kentucky is set to hire Jackson State head coach Mo Williams as an assistant coach.

Williams, a long time NBA point guard, is the father of new Kentucky commit Mason Williams. Mason is a four-star point guard who originally committed to Jackson State.

Prior to being the head man at Jackson State, Williams was head man at Alabama State and an assistant coach at Cal State Northridge.

Kentucky is expected to hire Jackson State head coach Mo Williams as an assistant under Mark Pope, multiple sources tell KSR.

The move comes on the heels of his son’s commitment to the Wildcats, 2026 four-star guard Mason Williams becoming Pope’s first pledge of the spring on Friday. They took an official visit to Kentucky together last week.
