Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis will not require surgery on his injured left hand, but he is expected to be out at least six weeks.
Earlier today, Shams Charania of ESPN reported that Davis would undergo surgery and likely miss the remainder of the season.
Davis refuted the report on social media.
Yall better stop listening to all these lies on these apps!

Charania later gave an update confirming Davis’ rebuttal.
Here is an excerpt of the updated report from ESPN:
Dallas Mavericks star Anthony Davis will not require surgery on his injured left hand after meeting with his physician, the team announced Tuesday. He was expected to “heal from the injury” in approximately six weeks, according to the team.
Davis was previously expected to undergo surgery to repair ligament damage in the hand and sit out several months, sources had told ESPN. Davis could still sit out up to eight or more weeks despite not going through with the surgery, sources said.
The Mavericks have had renewed trade talks around Davis with multiple interested teams and those conversations are continuing as the Feb. 5 trade deadline approaches.
