Kentucky opened the season with a weather-shortened 31-0 win over Southern Miss, but it was wasn’t enough to propel the Wildcats into the top 25 of either major college football poll.
The Cats (1-0) totaled enough votes to come in at No. 29 in the coaches poll this week.
UK is outside the top 40 in the updated AP Top 25 poll.
Georgia, Ohio State, Texas and Alabama are the top four teams in both polls.
