Team USA defeats host France to win fifth straight Olympic championship

Team USA is golden once again following a 98-87 victory over host France in the Olympics basketball championship.

Steph Curry made 8-of-12 three-pointers, including four straight in the final minutes, to finish with 24 points for the Americans. Kevin Durant had 15 points, and became the first American male to win four gold medals.

Former Kentucky guard Devin Booker also finished with `15 points. Anthony Davis, another former Wildcats, contributed 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks.



The United States, which is sometimes criticized for a lack of outside shooting at the national level, finished 18-for-36 from the three-point line today.
