The Dominican Republic national team is off to a perfect 3-0 start at the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
The Dominicans, led by former Kentucky star Karl-Anthony Towns, defeated Angola 75-67 Tuesday to win their group and secure a spot in the second round.
Towns finished with just 8 points and 2 rebounds in the win due to foul trouble. He averaged 25 points and 10.5 rebounds in the first two games.
“We got the win and [the] Dominican Republic is going crazy right now,” Towns said after the game. “We have a special team. Everyone counted us out and didn’t think we could be great.”
In the second round, the Dominican Republic will compete in Group I with Serbia, Italy and Puerto Rico.

Karl Towns le dijo a Eloy Vargas que en su playlist hay mucha bachata porque era la música que sus tías ponían en su casa.
