In his recent appearance on Paul George’s podcast, Julius Randle talked about the bond he has with other Kentucky players around the NBA because they played for John Calipari.
“You play on any team, damn near, and it’s a Kentucky player, bro,” Randle explained. “The bond is there automatic…I might of not never knew you before, but because you went to Kentucky bro, we got something in common like we knew each other the whole time. Cal ain’t changing for nobody, so we all go through the same shit out there.”

Randle also talked about his relationship with Calipari, noting that Cal helped Randle’s family with a medical situation in Kentucky last year.
“He’s a real one bro,” Randle said of Calipari. “That relationship don’t die just because you leave Kentucky.”
Julis Randle recalls talking to Calipari about his future after losing the 2014 National Title.
“He was like, ‘I’m not letting you come back. If you want to stay here in Dallas, stay here.'”
