Former Kentucky center Eloy Vargas returns to Venezuela

Former Kentucky big man Eloy Vargas is back in Venezuela to continue his professionbal basketball career with Trotamundos de Carabobo.

Vargas heads to Venezuela from Uguada in Uruguay’s LUB league. In 27 games there he averaged 16.6 points and 11.9 rebounds per game.

Defending champion Trotamundos de Carabobo (SPB) agreed terms with experienced 34-year old Dominican center Eloy Vargas (211cm-113kg-1988, college: Kentucky, agency: BIG). It is actually his comeback to La Asuncion as he has played here before. Vargas moved there from Uguada in Uruguayan LUB league. In 27 games he had very impressive stats: 16.6ppg, 11.9rpg (leader !!!), 1.9apg, 1.2spg and 1.6bpg last season. Good year as he was named League Player of the Week (4 times). He ended the last season at Larranaga (Metropolitan) in Uruguay where in only one game he recorded 6 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 1 block. But the most of that year he spent at Metros in Dominican Rep. LNB. In 9 games he averaged remarkable 18.7ppg, 9.3rpg, 1.4apg, 1.2spg and 1.0bpg. Good season as he was also here named League Player of the Week.
