On August 28, EKU football coach Walt Wells suffered a cardiac event that nearly took his life.
After a stay in the hospital and a brief recovery period, Wells was back on the EKU sideline. He went on to lead the Colonels to a 7-5 record and earned a spot in the FCS national tournament field.
Today, Wells was named ASUN Coach of the Year.
