It was always a long shot that Kentucky was going to go into Knoxville and upset No. 3 Tennessee, but most fans expected the Wildcats to compete.
What most folks not named Stephen A. Smith didn’t expect was for Kentucky to get completely destroyed.
Unfortunately, that’s exactly what happened tonight as the Volunteers dismantled the Wildcats on the way to a 44-6 win.

Tennessee scored immediately on their first offensive possession when a wide open receiver managed to get behind the Kentucky defense – something that happened later in the game, as well.
UK answered with a nice drive that ended in a Chris Rodriguez touchdown, but promptly had a point after attempt blocked.

That would end up being the only points of the night for the Wildcats (5-3, 2-3 SEC), who must now find a way to regroup for a road trip to Missouri.
Will Levis ended up 16-for-27 for just 98 yards and 3 interceptions. Rodriguez led the offense with 15 carries for 64 yards and the score.
Tonight reminded fans of old school Kentucky football – and that’s not a good thing.
Tennessee (8-0, 4-0) heads to No. 1 Georgia next weekend for a shot at what will almost certainly be the SEC East championship.
