Louisville is in the news again late tonight and, like the rest of the past decade, the news is bad.
According to multiple reports, the school is close to losing both its AD and President.
Online rumors suggest that AD Vince Tyra wanted to fire football coach Scott Satterfield and hire Jeff Brohm. The President refused the move, which angered Tyra. Now, Tyra is likely headed to Florida State.

Reports tonight indicate that the President is also on the move. Several reports suggest that Neeli Bendapudi is headed to Penn State.
Well-connected Louisville source told me to expect a big announcement tomorrow morning. Rumors of U of L President Neeli Bendapudi taking the Penn State job just stunning.

Update:
So the UL AD wanted to get rid of the Football coach to bring in Jeff Brohm but was told no by the UL President. This made the AD upset so he is leaving for Fla St and now the President is also leaving for Penn St
And UL fans are left with Satterfield and no one else

If that’s how it plays out, it really sucks for Louisville. They lose a President that is well-respected across the country, an AD who was trying to clean up the Athletic Department and are left with a mediocre football coach who can’t recruit
Kind of unbelievable

Frankly, I’m not sure how Louisville fans do it. It has been nothing but bad news for the greater part of the last decade.
Here are more details on the Tyra situation from the Courier Journal:
Vince Tyra, who has been the Cardinals’ AD since he picked up the interim role in 2017, had changes made to his contract as of Wednesday. The University of Louisville board of trustees agreed to waive his non-compete clause of his contract which would enable him to take the athletic director job at Florida State, which he has been linked to.
The board also waived the 30-day notice clause Tyra had in his contract, which now allows him to leave without giving a month’s notice to the Louisville board.
The non-compete clause in Tyra’s contract was a sticking point that held up talks about his contract. It stated he was not allowed to leave his position as Louisville’s AD to join another program in the ACC. That changed Wednesday when Louisville’s board waived the clause, allowing Tyra to take the job at Florida State.
None of the board members were available for comment, and no interim athletic director was named after the meeting, because Tyra is still in office. There was no compensation for the university in letting Tyra out of his non-compete and 30-day notice.
