Former Kentucky big man Bam Adebayo scored 12 points and pulled down 9 rebounds for the Americans. Jrue Holiday led the team with 18 points and 7 boards.
There is still plenty of time for Team USA to turn things around, but this is not the start they had hoped for.
This was the first loss by Team USA in the Olympics since 2004.
