Report: Kentucky football to keep Jovon Bouknight on staff following DUI arrest

Kentucky wide receivers coach Jovon Bouknight was arrested on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and alcohol over the weekend.

According to reports by Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, UK plans to keep Bouknight on the football staff following the arrest.

Here are more details from 247 Sports:

Kentucky wide receivers coach Jovon Bouknight was arrested this past Saturday by the Erlanger Police Department in Lexington on charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs and alcohol, the Courier Journal reported. Bouknight was booked shortly before 4 a.m. after he was stopped traveling 26 miles per hour over the speed limit. It certainly led some to wonder about Bouknight’s future with the program.

We now reportedly have some clarity on that. According to Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, Bouknight will remain on Mark Stoops’ staff with the Wildcats. Jones, according to SB Nation’s A Sea of Blue, reported the news Monday on his radio show. This comes after a university spokeswoman told the newspaper that the matter was being handled internally. Officers also found an open container in Bouknight’s vehicle.
