Charles Barkley takes shot at Kentucky football

Former Auburn basketball great Charles Barkley appeared on the Monday Night Megacast with ESPN’s Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit and Peyton Manning.

Of course, Barkley was asked about this weekend’s game between his Tigers and Kentucky.

Check out his comments:

“Oh, listen, things are never that bad — we’re going to kill Kentucky,” Barkley said. “I’m worried about Georgia the next week. Come on, man. This is not basketball. We’re not going to worry about Kentucky in football. Stop it, Herbie.”

Manning followed Barkley, noting that the Wildcats and head coach Mark Stoops could be ready to use those comments as bulletin-board material.

“OK, I hope Stoops is watching this interview, getting the troops fired up for this game,” Manning said.

Barkley later doubled down with a similar sentiment to Tennessee, where Manning starred at quarterback from 1994-97, adding that he is only concerned with his Tigers facing Alabama and Georgia.

“We’ve got our hands full with Nick Saban and Kirby Smart,” Barkley said.
