Governor Andy Beshear says he will be announcing new requirements for Kentucky on Thursday as a result of rising coronavirus cases in the state.
There have been 773 news cases of the virus announced in Kentucky in the last 2 days (402 today and 371 Tuesday).
There’s no indication as to what Beshear will announce tomorrow, but general consensus seems to be a mask mandate.
In a release, Beshear said the following:
“The rising case numbers are cause for concern, so tomorrow we’re going to announce some new requirements that are going to be mandatory. Given what we are seeing across the country with exploding numbers in certain places, my commitment is to make sure that doesn’t happen here, but I can’t do it alone.”
From a sports perspective, one has to wonder how Beshear’s announcement tomorrow will impact high school and even college sports in the fall.
The KHSAA is set to make some announcements of their own on Friday.
Gotta wonder how this will affect Friday’s KHSAA Board of Control meeting. https://t.co/m5ftxkhtRY
