Mark Stoops One of the Highest Paid College Football Coaches in the Country

Kentucky Football’s Mark Stoops has done a fantastic job of reviving the program and he is getting paid very nicely for his efforts.

24/7 Sports has the list of the top paid college football coaches in the country and Stoops is tied for #17.

T17. MARK STOOPS, KENTUCKY ($5 MILLION)
Kentucky wrapped up Stoops to a lucrative long-term deal last August, paying him an extra $500,000 a year through 2025. The Wildcats’ contract details were sent via press release as follows:

“The term of the contract is unaffected by the amendment and lasts through June 30, 2025,” Kentucky said in its release. “Total guaranteed compensation for each of the remaining six years on the contract will increase by $500,000 annually. Stoops will have the opportunity to earn $250,000 for each win beginning with the ninth win of each season, but will no longer receive $250,000 for the seventh and eighth win each season as he did previously. The amendment provides for new incentive payments for $50,000 for winning Southeastern Conference Coach of the Year and $100,000 for winning National Coach of the Year. Other incentive payments are unchanged.”
