Kentucky State Women’s Coach Accused of Injuring Player with Dummy Pad

Kentucky State University women’s coach Terrance Slater has been placed on administrative leave after a player claimed she was injured in practice by the coaching staff.

KSU women’s basketball player Wynter Webb was allegedly injured in practice by a dummy pad during a layup drill.

Here are details:

Webb’s parents say Slater used excessive force with a dummy pad, knocking her to the floor.

“She was injured at practice and it wasn’t by one of her teammates, it was by the coaching staff,” said Webb’s father, D.J. via Gwinnett Prep Sports. “She was injured in practice. It wasn’t in a game and she wasn’t injured by one of her peers.”

Webb, who also plays softball at the SIAC school, has neck and back injuries similar to whiplash according to reports. She also suffered a bruised arm during a practice layup drill.

“We are trusting in the school that they are going to do the right thing for her and the program,” Webb said.
