As if losing to Florida wasn’t bad enough, a Tennessee player actually walked off the field and quit the team during the third quarter of tonight’s game.
According to reports, linebacker Quart’e Sapp quit the team and walked off the field during the middle of the game:
Quarte Sapp quit the team at halftime. True story. He ran off near the end of the 2nd, motioned to his mom (in front of us), and walked off the field.

UPDATE: It turns out that Sapp reportedly refused to go in the game and was actually asked to leave by head coach Jeremy Pruitt.
Pruitt met with Sapp Sunday and apparently everything is fine now:
Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt said he and junior linebacker Quart’e Sapp met Sunday and that the situation that unfolded Saturday is water under the bridge.
Sapp remains with the team and on the depth chart as a second-string linebacker.
