Dakari Johnson is Headed to China

Former Kentucky big man Dakari Johnson has agreed to a contract with the Qingdao Eagles in China’s top-level CBA league.

Qingdao Eagles (CBA) agreed terms with 22-year old American power forward Dakari Johnson (213-107kg-95, college: Kentucky). He was about to sign at Orlando Magic in the NBA.

The most of last season Johnson spent at the Thunder in NBA. But in 32 games he had just 1.7ppg and 1.1rpg. Johnson helped them to win the G League Midwest Division title. He also played for OKC Blue in U.S. NBA G League where in 11 games he recorded very impressive stats: 22.5ppg, 9.5rpg, 2.8apg and 1.2bpg.

Three years ago Johnson was drafted by Oklahoma City Thunder (NBA) in second round (48th overall). The former University of Kentucky staris in his fourth season in pro basketball.

The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Johnson was voted USBasket.com All-D-League Forward of the Year in 2017.

He represented USA at the World Championships U17 in Kaunas (Lithuania) six years ago. Johnson’s team won Gold and his stats at that event were 4 games: 5.0ppg, 4.3rpg.
