John Calipari says he doesn’t have a tweak for this season’s version of the Kentucky Wildcats, but he does have an “adjustment” coming to help the team improve.
Fans will remember Calipari’s famous tweak that turned the entire season around in 2014.
Here’s what he had to say today about the adjustment:
Calipari said Kentucky’s practice Sunday was “refreshing and exciting” for him. He stopped practice and had a “this is what I’m seeing moment.”
Sound like a tweak?
“An adjustment,” Calipari said Monday. “We’re not ready to say tweak yet, but it’s an adjustment. Most of it truthfully with these guys … to get them to think the right way is really a struggle.”
Accountability has been an issue for Kentucky’s collection of freshman starters and two sophomore rotational players.
“Because the first thing if you’re not playing well, ‘I am not taking responsibility,’ ” Calipari said of the excuses. ” ‘That is not because of me. That’s because of you, it’s because of him, it’s because of them. It’s because of something. It’s the weather, it’s the food, it is not me. I don’t care what you saw, that wasn’t me.’ ”
