UK Hoops Blasts Louisville

The UK Hoops team burned the nets up today at Memorial Coliseum and torched the visiting Louisville Cardinals 74-54.

The ladies from Lexington shot 10-19 from behind the arc for a crisp 52.6%.

The Cats led from start to finish and used a ton of Louisville miscues to keep them at bay for basically the entire game.

Louisville finished with 26 turnovers which led to a ton of points for Kentucky.

The closest the game got, that I can remember, was 13 early in the second half. It seemed that Kentucky would bust a 3 or get a turnover and score in transition every time Louisville tried to mount any type of comeback.

A’dia Mathies did her usual scoring 20 points, but did it a little differently than she usually does hitting a career high 4 threes.

Samantha Drake probably had her best game as a Wildcat, scoring the first 6 points for UK in the 2nd half, as she definitely made her presence felt in the paint for the 25 minutes she was on the floor. Drake finished with 10 points.

Bria Goss added 9 points and took a ton of shots to get them, throwing up 12 shots, making only 3 of them.

Amber Smith played her usual strong floor game, dishing out 6 dimes and hitting shots when Kentucky needed them. She finished with 7 points.

The rest of the scoring for Kentucky: Kastine Evans 9, Brittany Henderson 6, Bra’Shey Ali 4, Keylan Snowden 3, and Bernisha Pinkett 2.

Kentucky plays in Rupp Arena on December 8th vs. Duke.
