The Kentucky baseball team (24-20, 7-14 SEC) will open a weekend series with highly-ranked South Carolina (35-9, 16-5 SEC) tomorrow night at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
The Gamecocks, ranked as high as No. 4 in one major poll, are playing as well as anyone in the Southeastern Conference.
USC leads the all-time series 37-27 and won the series in Lexington 2-1 last season.
Kentucky basketball head coach John Calipari has been selected to throw out the ceremonial first pitch for tomorrow night’s 7:00 p.m. game.
First pitch on Saturday is also slated for 7 p.m. ET, with the series finale scheduled for 1 p.m. ET at Cliff Hagan Stadium.
The Friday and Saturday games will be televised by the Big Blue Sports Network, with Dick Gabriel (play-by-play), Ryan Lemond (sideline) and MLB Gold Glove infielder Doug Flynn (color) calling the action
