[B]The Kentucky baseball team[/B] took a positive step towards the postseason last night with an 11-9 walk-off victory over No. 20 LSU.
Trailing by two runs in the bottom of the ninth inning, Kentucky plated a run to make it 11-10. Following that, junior Lance Ray became the game’s hero as he belted a walk-off, three-run home run.
Kentucky (27-23, 10-15 SEC) earned the win over LSU All-American closer Matty Ott, who dropped to 3-3 with the loss.
LSU dropped to 34-16 overall and 12-13 in the Southeastern Conference.
The series will resume Saturday at 3 p.m. ET at Cliff Hagan Stadium. UK will send freshman right-hander [COLOR=black]Jordan Cooper[/COLOR] (3-4, 5.11 ERA) to the mound for his fourth career SEC start. LSU has not yet announced a starting pitcher for Saturday.
