Caitlin Landis SEC Offensive Player of the Week

I love it when Wildcats get SEC honors. This week, we’d like to congratulate Caitlin Landis for receiving SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors. Caitlin, a freshman forward for the UK women’s soccer team, is a native of New Columbia, Pennsylvania. She was responsible in some way for all of UK’s scoring this weekend assisting on the Wildcats’ goal in the 1-1 tie at No. 17 Georgia and scoring the game-winning goal in a 1-0 win at Tennessee. Landis finished with eight shots on the weekend pushing her team leading total to 37, the eighth most shots by a freshman in UK history. Landis played all 110 minutes against Georgia and 88 of 90 minutes against Tennessee.

The award is the first of her collegiate career and she is the 10th Wildcat to receive an SEC weekly honor. It is also the 20th time a UK player has received any sort of SEC player of the week honor.

Kentucky closes out a four-game road stretch this weekend, traveling to Baton Rouge, La. and Fayetteville, Ark.
