Josh Pate of 247Sports graded several coaches, including Kentucky’s Mark Stoops, based on their performance during the 2022 college football season.
The Wildcats finished 7-6 and lost with a depleted roster to Iowa in the Music City Bowl.
Here’s how Pate grades Stoops for the season:
KENTUCKY WILDCATS’ MARK STOOPS — B+
Inconsistent quarterback play from projected first-round pick Will Levis, who was saddled with foot, finger, and shoulder injuries, marred Kentucky’s season. Still, the Wildcats clinched bowl eligibility for a seventh-straight year and climbed as high as No. 7 in the AP Polls, the program’s highest ranking since 1977. Stoops is bringing in the No. 30 recruiting class next season and a seven-man transfer portal class highlighted by quarterback Devin Leary (N.C. State) and former five-star defensive lineman Keyshawn Silver (UNC). Kentucky will also welcome back offensive coordinator Liam Coen, who helmed the Los Angeles Rams’ offense last season.
