2012’s Kyle Anderson and UK

Lucas Shapiro had an article this morning on 2012 PG Kyle Anderson where he opined that Kentucky would be a best-fit for the Junior. Shapiro compared Anderson’s lack of athleticism to his high ceiling, and noted Calipari’s “missing out” on fellow 2012 recruits Rodney Purvis, Isaiah Austin, and Ricardo Ledo (all of whom have already committed to other universities).

That seems a little contradictory to a Zagsblog post I read yesterday where Anderson’s father thinks Xavier is in the lead (with Anderson’s other unofficial visits being Villanova, Georgetown, UCLA and UMass).

Anderson’s St. Anthony Friars are undefeated so far this season, and through the first 3 games he’s averaging 14.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 4.7 assists. Rivals is saying he has an offer from UK, Scout is saying he doesn’t. Anderson is rated #5 overall by Rivals, #21 by Scout, #32 by MaxPreps and #19 by ESPN. Other 2012 guards reported to hold UK offers include L.J. Rose and Archie Goodwin.
