Arizona, Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Louisville and Memphis, to name a few, have all drawn the attention of Muhammad.

With visits already taken to Duke, Memphis, Louisville and North Carolina for its game against the Wildcats earlier this season, Muhammad says his next trip will be to UK.

“The next visit will be to Kentucky,” Muhammad said. “I think it will be sometime during basketball season. I just have to see what’s free on my schedule and go from there.”

During his visit to Chapel Hill for the Tar Heels 75-73 win over the Cats Dec. 4, Muhammad said he was particularly impressed by UK coach John Calipari’s dribble-drive offense up close.

“I saw them play North Carolina and the guards play free and coach Cal allows you to show your moves and have opportunities,” Muhammad said. “That’s something I look for.”

For now, Muhammad said he’s trying focusing on his high school season in lieu of the recruiting process.

“I’m just taking my time and trying to focus on the season.”

Shabazz possesses the type of star power that Calipari has signed over the past three recruiting classes. Muhammad says it’s that kind of success, coupled with UK’s big-time atmosphere, that makes the Cats an attractive draw.
