Kentucky football has picked up a 2011 commitment from defensive lineman Blake Terry from Denton Guyer High School (Tex.).

Here is an excerpt from DallasNews.com:

“His dream has come true, and that’s to play in a major conference,” Guyer head coach John Walsh said. “And that’s what he’s going to get to do.”

Terry won’t only get the chance to play in a major conference by choosing Kentucky over other offers from Colorado State, Louisiana-Monroe, Sam Houston State and UT-San Antonio , but he’ll play in the conference of his dreams — the Southeastern Conference.

“Going to play in the SEC was big,” said the 6-foot, 235-pound senior-to-be. “That’s my type of ball game. I like smash-mouth style and a lot of running [the ball]. That’s what led me to Kentucky. I’ve always wanted to play in the SEC. I thought it was awesome that Kentucky showed interest in me, and I took it.”

Last season, in 15 games, Terry had 135 tackles at middle linebacker to go with three sacks, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery to earn him first-team honors on the District 5-4A all-district team.
