Thielemann plays for Boyle County, home of 4-star 2011 LB Lamar Dawson, and has discussed the recruiting process with his fellow Rebel. I was able to get in 10 questions with Thielemann this week.

Todd Kirby: What colleges are you interested in or seeing interest from?
Keith Thielemann: First – colleges interested in me – heavy interest from Mizzou and Western Kentucky. Average interest from Kentucky, not as much as the other schools. Second – schools I am interested in. I want to play D-1 ball. Also, I have talked about this quite a bit with Lamar, who just finished the process. Therefore, top of the list is UK and Mizzou – UK is 1 hour from my home and school – Mizzou is 1 hour from my father, where I spend the summer and grew up. However, I would give consideration to other D1 schools: Louisville, Tennessee, Cincinnati, WV, VTech, Virginia, Georgia, Clemson or Marshall if they express interest in me. There is one outlier, which is the University of Montana – I know it sounds weird but when you see my interests you will understand.
TK: What all positions do you play (offense, defense and special teams)?
KT: I play Nose Tackle in 3-4; DT in the 4-3. Also, RT for extra point and FG. I may play both ways, OT or C this fall, but my focus is defense.
TK: Which of those positions do you prefer, and would it matter if you were asked to play a different position in college?
KT: NT is where it is at. NT is for men and men only. If I had to play offense I would, but my heart is defense. Defense has won the last 2 state titles for BC (Boyle County).
TK: What are your current stats (height, weight, time for the 40, bench, squat)?
KT: Height: 6’ 1.5”; Weight: 285; 40-5.4ish, have not ran the 40 this spring but believe I have shaved some time off; Bench: 285; Squat: around 500.
TK: Are there any accolades you want us to know about (all-region, all-state, etc.)?
KT: Defensive MVP – Touchdown Bowl; Advocate Messenger all-area team.
TK: Have you been to any college camps yet?
KT: No. Planning on camping at Mizzou in the summer while I am at my Dad’s, National Underclassman Combine in May at Tates Creek.
TK: What is your favorite NFL team and why?
KT: Rams – grew up watching them when I lived outside St. Louis.
TK: How are your grades right now?
KT: Excellent – have made some honor rolls, no issues. Taking the SAT soon.
TK: Any idea what you want to major in?
KT: Forestry – wildlife officer.
TK: What do you do when you’re not playing football?
KT: There is nothing but football. However, I do snow ski in the winter (no joke, a NT that skis, don’t see that every day). It is fun and keeps me agile making the quick cuts.
