Wall Bothered by Cal's Remarks

Hello John:
I realize it is hard to have some much laid on your shoulders being a young man and a great basketball player. Keep the faith...we've never had a group like you and the team and we are all very proud of you. You can hold your head high and be thankful for the God given talent you have been given.....at the next level, you will always be remembered as a "Wildcat" and one of the best ever!!!

Hold on and keep playing your game......all the bumps in the road to success must be patched by effort and love for what you do.

ah one bad game is nothing to get down on your a great player and we have a great team u guys just gotta find a way to come together and keep playing better and closing teams out i think u guys have the potential to be great just gotta keep your head up and playing to the best of your ability and in my opinion no one in the country will be able to play with us!! John the Uk program puts alot of preasure on you to win we know that. You are a Superstar and even a Superstar has a down night. I do believe that there were other players against South Carolina out there also. John you are awesome and my only wish is that you would stay at Kentucky and show them that you are the best to ever play there. Don't get down on all the preasure just go out and do your best as you have always done.

You had four turnovers. Six of 16 from the floor. Maybe that's what the coach was upset about!

You are an incredible player, part of an incredible team. You have the support of many. I cannot imagine the pressure you are under, but keep your head up!!! You are amazing and I have enjoyed every minute of watching you play and am excited to see your continued success in the future.

I think you're a fantasitc player and it brightens my day to see you play. I think that the pressure to win may be put on your shoulders a little fierce though. And it doesn't look like you all really have fun playing. Keep your head up and things will hopefully look up for you soon. You're amazing and I can't wait to see the next game. North Carolina might not ever make it to 2000 wins. They are down 53-33 with 12 remaining in 2nd half vs Virginia.

Hey John, i think coach is just trying to push you to be better. You have more potential than anyone in the college game, he is trying to get you there. you are a great player and so fun to watch as a fan. Keep your head up and keep playing hard and you will only be better. Maybe cal was a little upset after the loss and said that without thinking of the effects of his words. I think you played great along with boogie. if it weren't for you two the day would have been alot worse. you are our leader and we need u strong and focused, let that stuff go in one ear and out the other and just keep doing what u do. BALLIN!!! WE ARE GLAD TO HAVE U ON GOOD NIGHTS AND BAD. GO CATS!!!!!!!!

John should know, while coach might have said some hurtful things about his game play, he also knows how extremely talented John is and expects the best from him. At the end of the day John's gotta do his thing, and be a part of his team. John's character and humbleness outshine even his game play, that is what makes him a classy player, and why so many people have such high respect for him. JOHN, Keep your head up...you determine your how your days go by what you make of each situation.

John Wall = Kentucky Basketball!!! Hang in there John; we all have bad days (games) in everyday life. There is always a per say "slump". The old motto, "when the going gets tough, the tough gets going".

You have a key role to uphold for KY Basketball, leadership! You are the mentor for a lot of boys/young men. You are an Icon. You have to be strong, take the bad w/ the good. I am sure the Coach didn't mean it as all negative, just consider it "positive" critisim.

Keep your head up & keep playing ball. An Icon displays their talent!!! Also, remember it takes more than "one" to be a "team".

You did have a bad game....turnovers were a problem. However, not listening to what coach says is not going to help your case. You're a great ball player, but coach is a great coach. Suck it up...and learn from it. Show him what your working with next game!! We love ya!

To Jpinkston...I have to disagree with Wall=Kentucky Basketball. No one is playing like Cousins right now. John is an amazing, unselfish player that will make great strides. However, if he is unwilling to hear and utilize the negatives, along with the positives, he may cut himself short!

Please remember that we all have bad days, and that Coach Cal is always trying to improve you and the rest of the team. (Not that you played horrible - but some days not as good as others.) His choice of words may have hurt, but I believe he loves you as much as we all do - probably more.)

Please do not give up on him, KY or us fans. We all love and respect you. Have fun and play like you always have. YOU ARE GREAT!

Everyone has bad games and gets discouraged it just means you are human like the rest of us. We as fans know that you and the rest of the Wildcat Team want to do your very best for yourselves and for the fans. Just hang in there and keep your chin up, things will get better. You and the other team members have made it fun and exciting to watch UK basketball again and will always have a special place in the heart of the BIG BLUE NATION !!!!!

Coach will only say what needs to be said at the time. He has YOUR best interest at heart. He also has the team's best interest at heart. He knows what lies ahead for you and the rest of the team. It is his job to prepare you all for the future also.
Everyone, including Coach, knows that you and this team are a very special group of young men. You all have the skills & potential to be the very best UK has ever had. I have been a fan of UK for 55 years and I have watched a lot of GREAT players come through the UK program. A group like you have there now, only comes along once in a life time for Coaches.
Let me speak for ALL TRUE UK FANS, WE love the way you & the rest of the team is playing. FANS know that at times you all won't shine as bright as you do most of the times but that is LIFE. I know coach was only letting you know that he expects 100% from this team, all the time. He sees things on the side line that the team and the rest of us never notices. That's his JOB.
You seem like a very Good young man anf we know you are probably the greatest guard that ever played the game.
KEEP YOUR HEAD UP & SHAKE OFF WHAT'S BOTHERING YOU. DON"T WORRY ABOUT THINGS IN LIFE BECAUSE YOU NEVER KNOW HOW LONG YOU WILL BE HERE. Have FUN anf enjoy your youth. Believe me, I know!!!!!!!!
