Further proof that drunk high school/college kids and water are never a good combination. Not sure what the big deal is though. He did a stupid thing, but he tackled him in water. No one was hurt. I say punish him in practice.
As for the comment he didn't hurt anyone; That's a lame excuse. Do we have to go back to basic pool safety. A slip or fall running in a wet pool area could have seriously injured himself or the guard. The guard could have hit his head on the concrete rendered unconsciencious or worse. I say pull his scholarship and he if wants to be a cat he can walk on and earn it. Scholarships are a valuable limited resource for schools and they should given out as such. Why reward someone who can jeopardize your program in the future? If he doesnt respect authority here, what makes you think he will respect the 1000s of NCAA student athelete rules. How long before he's selling jerseys, taking money or commits more serious criminal acts while enrolled. Then it all points back to this incident where no action was taken and athletes get the sense of invincibility and unaccountability.
