The University of Kentucky football program recently unveiled a beautiful, new training facility. UK created a bit of controversy, however, by placing a 1950 national championship trophy in the new facility.
The Wildcats are claiming a national championship that season because they defeated the Oklahoma Sooners in the Sugar Bowl. Oklahoma was still declared “consensus national champions” for the season, despite the loss to Kentucky. Princeton and Tennessee were also voted by some organizations as national champions that season.
Apparently, Kentucky is now staking a claim in the national title:

What are your thoughts? Does Kentucky deserve at least a share of the 1950 national championship?
Many folks went to social media to express their thoughts on the subject. And, as you might imagine, the reaction was mixed:
In most Kentucky football move possible, Wildcats just built themselves a national title trophy for 1950, year they finished 7th in AP poll,

This is the most Kentucky thing ever. Might as well put a Lombardi Trophy and Stanley Cup in there as well https://t.co/qL9bkXebJM
