• There have been many rumblings lately about 2011 shooting-guard Trevor Lacey's grades and if he will be eligible to play basketball in college.

Despite the rumors, Lacey has continued to persevere and he strongly believes he will meet the requirements to go to college and play basketball.

Once again, he is defending himself, as he talked with TideSports.com's Greg Ostendorf today after his game.

This is what he had to say:

"I just have to get that ACT score where it needs to be," Lacey said. It's not bad, but as far as the clearinghouse looking funny at it, I don't want any of that. With the score I have, I can get through, but they just want to make it where it's clear."
Lacey took the ACT back in February and results have recently came in. He is also lined up to take it again in April, thus trying to boost the score he has right now.

Lacey finished with 19 points tonight in the semifinals of the AHSAA 4-A State Tournament.

Alabama's Anthony Grant was on-hand to witness Lacey and Butler High School advance to yet another state championship.

They will play Friday night at 8:00 CST for the championship.

Still believe he is "odds on favorite" to choose Alabama.
