If you watched the Blue-White game last night, you know that Jones dropped 52. Heck, even if you didn't watch the game you still probably know. Last night Jones put the entire basketball world on notice with his preformance. It wasn't so much that he scored 52 points (let's face the facts, towards the end there was little to no defense) but how he did it. He looks way bigger, and must've added around 15 pounds to his already impressive frame. Now he built like a house and has his speed? that's just a matchup nightmare for anyone.
He will be able to take bigger defenders off the dribble with ease and post up the smaller ones just as well, simply put, the work he put in this offseason could make him a top five draft pick (provided we have a draft) next summer. Coach Cal went on to say that Jones has both transformed his body and his attitude, and if he has devloped a killer instinct he might just be the best player in the entire country. The hype around Jones coming into this season was already huge and last night's efforts only serve to keep that hype going.
So why the change in attitude? Was it because KG has the skill and drive to take his starting spot had he not picked it up another level? Or maybe it was just because he wants to win a championship this season. There are plenty of reasons why he has made this leap as a player, what do you guys think?
