• Stan Simpson has generated a buzz around Kentucky today with his tweet last night that the UK coaches want to come watch him play.

I spoke to Stan this evening and he said he spoke to Coach Kenny Payne last night. Coach Payne told Stan that he and maybe Coach Calipari would come and watch him practice next Monday or Tuesday.

I asked Stan about possibly making a visit to the UK campus on either the Vanderbilt or Florida game dates. Stan said,"I probably won't be able to watch a game at Rupp Arena because they play the same days we do." "I will try to make a game during March Madness."

He also said he planned on making his visits to campuses after the season is over.

Knowing that Stan has a lot of Memphis followers on twitter, I wasn't surprised he said his top 2 are Memphis and Kentucky.

Stan went so far as to saying, "I am comparing every other school to Memphis and Kentucky," when I asked him about the possibility of other visits.

The last question I had for Stan was would he commit to a school, or would he wait to signing day to let the school's know his final decision.
Stan answered, "If I like a school I could commit on a visit."

Keep an eye on Stan Simpson, he is definitely looking like he will end up in blue.

Will that be Kentucky blue or Memphis blue?

2011 class. He is a JUCO player, so there are no 'star' ratings for him. The rating system is bad, too. Technically Anthony Davis and Michael Gilchrist could be the worst college players even though they have good high school careers. I certainly don't think they will be bad at all, but what I am saying is that you shouldn't always trust the rating system.

One more example...In the class of Wall, Cousins, etc...the #1 player, Avery Bradley, is in the d-league and was drafted at number 19 to the Celtics. Wall was the #5 player overall and was drafted 1st overall and is having a successful career. so, yeah.

I thought ESPN had John Walls as the #1 recruit in the incoming 2009 class?

Nope, he was rated at 5 on ESPN. Being rated 5 isn't bad by any means though.
