Rumors of Wall and Cousins being paid to play

And so it begins. Can't beat UK on the court they doctor some rumors just because Coach Cal is an easy target. So lets look at the past for a bit. When Cal was at UMASS, the player who received "bonuses" from a sports agent had played at UMASS long before the agent came around, and Cal had established himself there even before then, so why all of a sudden would Cal risk his reputation and the school reputation on something that stupid. It was the kids fault and he owned it. Next we move to Memphis, where Cal had coached 9 season before Derrick Rose started playing and was later accused of paying someone to take his SATs, which by the way, the NCAA cleared him to play even when this issue was first brought up and was believed to have been settled. If the appeal is squashed, this whole thing is once again the kid's fault and not Cal's. I mean think about it, why coach 9 successful seasons and decide to cheat when, in all honesty, the team was good before any "cheating" would have occurred? The UK program integrity has constantly been questioned ever since Cal took the reins, yet no one questions Roy Williams of UNC, or Bobby Knight when he was at Indiana and later at Texas Tech, or Coach K at Duke, or Bruce Pearl at UT, and the list goes on. The fact of the matter is that the only thing that people like more than singing a team come together and succeed is watching them crash and burn in some sort of drama BS.

Hasn't U.K. always been in the line of fire,its the same old song and dance,if We are down they have nothing to say at all.Let us make a giant leap up the ladder then tongues start wagging and lips start flapping.Why can't they just accept the fact we have the best coach in HISTORY,RECRUITS THE BEST PLAYERS AND WITH THE COMPASSION HE HAS FOR HIS BOYS,WHO WOULDN'T WANT TO BE ,AND CONSIDER IT AN HONOR TO BE A PART OF HIS TEAM.!!!!!!!!.

Why are you putting this useless and unfounded link on your site. I usually love your site and look forward to the topics that you put on here but I don't understand a UK fan site perpetuating this rumor. Any idiot that wants to can put out a blog and say anything and someone always takes it serious and makes much more of it than it really is. Please if you love UK basketball remove this link and let this story blow over because there is absolutely nothing to this and even though you are discrediting this story the more that it spreads around the internet (including your site) the more we have the possibility of added scrutiny to our team and even though I am 100% sure that this is not true the last thing we need is a story like this distracting the players and keeping them from focusing on the games with the tourny coming up.

This is ridiculous. This is as bad as the fed ex package that had $1000 in it. We all know how hard it is to open those packages and it just happened to be opened.
