Louisville Coach Rick Pitino went on 840 WHAS to discuss the recruiting scandal with Terry Meiners on Thursday. Hear what he had to say on the podcast below.

U of L Men’s Basketball Coach Rick Pitino called in to talk with Terry about Breaking Cardinal Rules. They discussed whether or not he would resign, his knowledge of the accusations in the book, the possibility of pulling out of the NCAA tournament(s), Andre McGee, JaQuan Lyle’s statements, the mechanics of recruiting (money, cell phones), and the future of the program.
One of the biggest questions has been about the money used to fund the recruiting parties. “Andre has no access to cash…at all…from the university. Andre would not have any access to money,” Pitino explained. Pitino insisted McGee’s role was operational and he had nothing to do with getting recruits. The Louisville Coach told Meiners he would fly out to meet with Andre McGee face to face if they would let him.
Pitino said he has no plans to resign and has a message to fans, “Tough people get through tough times.”
