Continuing our Year in Review series, today we take a look at John Wall in his first game as a Kentucky Wildcat. All camera's were on Wall and he did not disappoint. He was only 4-9 from the field, which included the last second game winner, and was 10-14 from the free throw line. It was March 8, 2003 and the #2 ranked Kentucky Wildcats thought that they had the game and the undefeated SEC season locked up at halftime in Gainesville, Florida. The #3 ranked Gators had something else in mind when the final 20 minutes of the game started although they faced a 12 point deficit with a 43-31 score. Florida was also playing with a school best 19-game home winning streak; the longest in school history. ...

On January 12, 2008 the Vanderbilt Commodores looked to come into Rupp Arena and knockout the Wildcats who had a dismal record of 8-7 on the season. The most recent blow came from instate rival Louisville who defeated Kentucky on their home court just a week earlier. Early in the season the Cats suffered morale-deflating losses against Gardner-Webb, Houston and San-Diego. Although there was a lot of early season disappointment the Wildcats weren't about to give us and Refused to Lose against the undefeated Commodores.

In the 1951 Sugar Bowl, the 7th ranked Kentucky Wildcats faced the #1 Oklahoma Sooners. The Sooners had a perfect 10-0 record and were working on a 3 year, 31 game win streak. The Wildcats had only lost 1 game that season and had an impressive 10-1 record but were the underdogs against Oklahoma. Kentucky stopped Oklahoma throughout the entire game with the exception of a touchdown with 7 minutes left in the football game and won 13-7. ...

14 years ago in what today seems like a strange match-up, the Kentucky Wildcats led by Rick Pitino faced the University of Massachusetts Minutemen who were then led by Coach John Calipari. Tony Delk scored 20 points to help lead Kentucky past UMASS 81-74. UMASS defeated Kentucky in a regular season game earlier in the year but Kentucky played strong defense during this game. The Cats frequently double teamed Marcus Camby, who still scored 25 points and had a Final Four record 6 blocks.

The 2009-2010 season was full of greatness for Kentucky Wildcat fans. The excitement stretched from a top recruiting class to SEC Championships to the Elite Eight. Also there are many things about this season that we will never forget, there is one that stands out brighter than them all: UK2K. On December 21, 2009, the Kentucky Wildcats became the first team to reach 2,000 wins.
